Position:
CastleOak's finance group is a small, high performing team that recently separated out from our Operations team. As the company continues to grow, the finance team is as the forefront of establishing reporting, budgeting, and value-add insights to the business and to senior management. The team is responsible for a wide variety of deliverables and touches all parts of the business, ensuring high visibility and the chance to round out a broad skill set. We are looking for an individual to operate in a controller type role and help our Head of Finance build a world class finance program at a growing broker-dealer. The successful applicant will need to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, be able to work autonomously as well as be a team player, help train and mentor a soon to be hired analyst, and be comfortable interacting at all levels of the organization internally. We are looking for someone with extensive accounting experience and a strong financial services background. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your experience and have direct input into instituting best practices for the department.
- Overseeing and preparing monthly financials statements (B/S, I/S, Cash flow, Partners' Equity)
- Manage / directly involved with annual financial audit
- Review / perform month end general ledger account reconciliations
- Review / prepare and post month end journal entries
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations
- Perform various accounting, administrative and other related ad hoc requests
- Manage accounts receivable tracking
- Manage accounts payable invoicing and expense processing
- Manage Jr. Financial Analyst
- Develop and enforce internal controls
- Analyze financial data
- Review / prepare month end work papers
- Manage and monitor all financial transactions
- Oversee/prepare daily income accrual schedules
- Review / perform month end bank reconciliations
- FINRA knowledgeable
- Strong communication skills written and verbal
- Audit experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP standards and accounting principles
- 5-10 years' experience in industry
- BA in Accounting/Finance
- Ability to multi-task
- Broker dealer experience
- Strong Skills in Excel and other Microsoft platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- FINRA Series 27 (must acquire within 6 months of joining if not already in possession)
- Working towards a CPA
- Base salary range = $120-180K, depending on experience; eligible for discretionary bonus
