Job Description

ROLE: Associate Vice President - Acquisitions

LOCATION: New York, NY

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our Client is seeking an Associate Vice President - Acquisitions to join its New York-based team. The Associate Vice President – Acquisitions will be integrally involved in sourcing and critically evaluating new investment opportunities for our Client’s Acquisitions Team including direct property acquisitions, loan investments, and note acquisitions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the due diligence and closing process for new investments
  • Analyzing new investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies
  • Must possess capital markets experience and knowledge of debt and equity investments
  • Maintain thorough market awareness of commercial real estate debt and equity transactions across various real estate product types and markets
  • And have strong attention to detail
  • Interfacing with capital partners and other third parties to execute investments
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, take on additional responsibility,
  • Preparing detailed investment memos to present to Investment Committee
  • Performing market research and site visits to supplement investment analysis and identify new micro and macro trends impacting investment opportunities
  • Creating in-depth Excel models to analyze cash flows, JV structures, waterfalls to calculate investor returns, promotes and evaluate new potential investments
  • Other ad-hoc projects, as necessary
  • Prepare hold/finance/sell recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or business from a top university
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings; a strong team player
  • Track record of investment success
  • 5-7 years of relevant acquisitions experience
  • Strong cash flow modeling experience
  • A passion for real estate investing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Argus
