Our client is a leader in next-generation Hybrid Fiber-Wireless fixed access broadband solutions and a subsidiary of a large telco enterprise. We are hiring a Senior Vice President/Head of the Business Unit for our client. The Senior Vice President/Head of the Business Unit provides leadership for all aspects of the business unit’s operations with an emphasis on long-term goals, growth, profit, and return on investment. The leader should have a strong track record in technology sales and general management experience of similarly sized businesses.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees employment decisions in the business unit.
- Leads a team of leaders to consider major decisions, including acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, or large-scale expansion.
- Promotes communication and cooperation among divisions to create a spirit of unity in the organization.
- Manages and directs the business unit toward its primary goals and objectives, specifically meeting all required sales targets and business goals.
- Oversees the ongoing operations in the business unit, including revenues and margins.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Negotiates, along with business partners, with other companies regarding actions such as mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures.
- Owner of revenue and margins.
- Presents regular reports on the status of the business unit’s operations to the executive management and other executives as required.
- Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.
- Reviews the financial results of all operations, comparing them with the business unit’s objectives and taking appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and results.
- Ensures the business unit’s compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
- Works with executives and other management to establish short-term objectives and long-range goals, as well as related plans and policies.
- Oversees the organization’s financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and goals of the company.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent managerial and financial skills and the ability to take leadership over any business operations area.
- Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations.
- Superlative communication skills, particularly as a leader.
Education and Experience:
- Education may vary; an advanced degree in engineering, business administration, finance is preferred.
- Extensive professional experience in leadership roles.
