Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Albany FireWolves are seeking a Vice President of Sales to join our PACK! The Vice President of Sales is a senior leader within our organization. The ideal candidate must be results driven, an effective communicator, have the ability to train and nurture the sales staff, and have a proven track record of leading people and achieving measurable results. This role will lead and manage all areas of the sales department (ticket sales and corporate sales) including but not limited to: Group Sales, Season Ticket Memberships, Planning and implementation of ticket packages, Corporate Partnership packages, as well as having proven ways to measure staff performance and motivate to accomplish team goals. The candidate must understand selling concepts and possess the ability to work effectively as the leader of a high-level sales team in a sports market. This position reports directly to the President of the FireWolves.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to find opportunities, develop strategies and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to motivate, lead and bring diverse groups together to work on and complete projects.
  • Ability to work with sales goals and manage several projects at a time.
  • Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weeknights, select weekends, and holidays.
  • Deep-running passion for sports, knowledge of lacrosse preferable
  • Must have proven track record in successfully leading a ticket and/or corporate department.
  • Familiar with the Capital Region area preferable
  • Ability to utilize analytic tools to measure performance and use data to provide proper feedback and make judgements for results driven outcomes.
  • Proactive, highly energetic approach and drive to sell.
  • Must be enthusiastic, creative, charismatic, accountable, integrity and able to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Minimum of, or equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, a masters degree is preferable.
  • Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimal direct supervision.
  • Have the ability and knowledge to work within specific ticketing systems.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing sales and/or service teams, preferably in sports and entertainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and manage annual business plan to achieve results including revenue goals, pricing, product variety and other key areas of sales.
  • Manage departmental budget, forecasting, and resources.
  • Establish all systems, structures, and reports for the department, including various ticket sales reports (daily, weekly, season, per-game, etc.)
  • Develop presentations and strategies that will lead to building and maintaining lasting relationships that will generate and increase revenues and profits.
  • Ensure the ticketing team meets or exceeds established revenue goals.
  • Maximize revenue by creating premium seating concepts, developing sales and marketing strategies, recruiting and empowering sales team, and building strong organizational and high-performance culture.
  • Lead all ticketing operations, including ticket distribution, game day box office liaison, etc.
  • Directly manage ticketing team by setting and reviewing performance objectives, touchpoint targets and revenue objectives, coaching, motivating, mentoring, and training
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and implement revenue and ticketing strategies.
  • Build and maintain list of corporate and private contacts and prospects.
  • Establish systems to maintain high quality relationships with season ticket holders.
  • Establish and execute group ticket sales program.
