The Vice President, Carrier Partnerships is responsible for creating and maintaining all Employee Benefits carrier partnerships at Alera Group. This role will provide leadership to strategically develop and grow relationships with Alera Group partners while working closely with internal resources to advise on programs and initiatives that address external and internal client needs. The Vice President, Carrier Partnerships will facilitate the direct connection to our preferred partnerships for national, regional and client needs, events, support opportunities, advocate services and other items as needed.


This position would be responsible for managing existing engagements to increase business value as well as seek new opportunities to expand those partnerships through measurable growth. These partnerships are key to the business growth at Alera Group and have a significant visibility to the executive management teams.


Leads activities that drive achievement of mutually acceptable goals, growth targets, and ‘go to market’ strategies for all group carrier partnerships at the national level Oversees all national carrier contracts, negotiate as needed and communicate to all stakeholdersOversee Alera’s P1 program for Employee Benefits Practice including all group medical, ancillary, and stop loss partnershipsEvaluate annually and set forth with regular communication the group Employee Benefits P1 strategy and preferred partnerships to regional and national stakeholdersEvaluate progress of partnerships annually and report to regional and senior leadership opportunities to improve and or challenges to addressAddress and direct opportunities for growth and/or the correction of any challenges Conduct an industry wide RFI every three years to ensure competitiveness.Communicate monthly with regional and national leadership on progress to goal during designated callsDocument and present quarterly results to senior leadership stakeholdersMeet with (in person or virtually) all carrier partners a minimum quarterly and provide updates as needed to regional and national stakeholders Coordinate and collaborate with all national specialty practices to identify needs and/or opportunities for enhanced resources or funding available to Alera Group clients including but not limited to technology, data, marketing, pharmacy or other credits/programs available to Alera Group clients Develop and communicate regularly to regional EB leadership the carrier partnership P1 playbook on leveraging Alera’s preferred partners, including tracking of progress to adopt and maintain partnerships by region Participate on a minimum of three national advisory boards representing Alera GroupCollaborate with the regional EB PL’s to designate a minimum of 7 regional liaisons to coordinate communication at the regional level and/or represent Alera to our preferred partners on a regional basis Oversees Alera Group’s Director of Product Solutions and Services to share goals, and drivers with carrier partners to develop creative programs for client satisfaction, account growth, & persistency.Oversee onboarding and troubleshooting with Director of Product Solution and Services on all carrier contracting and or commission tracking for newly acquired firms Coordinates and facilitates carrier partner trainings and marketing/sales materials for firm events, forums, and continuing education seminarsMaintains knowledge industry trends; represents Alera Group at carrier conferences.
