To support the fast growth and manage the massive content on the platform, ByteDance's infrastructure team is building Global Energy Expertise to hyper-scale data centers globally that host hundreds of thousands of servers. We are looking for a passionate and structured project manager to overlook the End-to-End process in data center power strategy, including power planning, power purchase and sustainability initiatives. You will work closely with Corporate Strategy, Data Center Engineering, Operation, Capacity Planning and Global Supply Chain team to manage complex construction and service projects in the US and Europe. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing complex projects and building constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Location: Mountain View, CA / Seattle, WA
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including both internal and external stakeholders to identify and lead a renewable energy strategy for the data center fleet.
- Manage Data Center portfolio carbon footprint, monitor project progress and deliver according to global carbon roadmap.
- Build up and manage relationships with suppliers community for performance management and continuous improvement.
- Conduct energy / renewable energy cost analysis and drive initiatives to optimize the budget structure.
- Negotiate and manage DC energy supply, and advise on the energy market for new data center location strategy.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Policy, Law, Economics, Business, Technology, or Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years+ Experience in real estate / tech infrastructure development, evaluation, acquisition, energy trading projects.
- 3 years+ Experience managing utility agreements and energy-related issues.
- Experience in the US or Europe energy market, familiar with renewable energy strategy and sustainability initiatives.
- Experience in Commercial Negotiation (e.g., Power Purchase Agreements, Renewable Energy Financing, Policy and Regulatory).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or a related field.
- Experience in indirect taxes, economic development policy, infrastructure development, macro-level energy market strategy.
- Proven record of solving complicated challenges through ambiguity.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $109027 - $288000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
