To meet our goals, Tesla is constantly innovating, pioneering new energy products and services – we are seeking someone hardworking and passionate about changing the world we live in, to successfully grow our energy products globally in a variety of different customer applications and markets.
As Product Manager, you’ll be expected to leverage your deep technical understanding of the products and the global residential energy storage market to gather local market requirements and own the Global Operations team’s product growth roadmap, empowering our Product and Engineering teams to deliver the best possible energy storage solutions. This is a cross-functional role that requires coordination between many different groups within and outside of Tesla. You’ll be required to wear various hats, collaborating across teams such as product & compliance engineering, sales & business development, policy, field operations, and channel management to ensure successful launch and growth of new products, markets, and product applications.
Success in this role requires an excellent technical engineering foundation to understand the hardware/software products we are deploying in the physical world. In parallel, you must have a strong desire and proven ability of being an effective leader who brings creativity and offers strategic product and business solutions, maximizing our impact on the energy transition.
What You’ll Do

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

What You’ll Do
- Use analytics to present the team with data-driven recommendations on product development and global marketing strategies
- Own technical competitive intelligence workflows that inform the Product and Engineering teams
- Define and execute a winning Go-To-Market launch strategy for new energy products and markets
- Act as the interface between global sales, business development, and product engineering to ensure roadmap items and engineering requests are well scoped and vetted
- Define the overall strategy, scope business requirements, and set priorities for our storage product roadmap including new products, product applications, market entries, data services, and aggregation
- Drive action & accountability from cross functional groups to meet business priorities
- Report to leadership on roadmap and launch status, critical issues, and strategic recommendations
- Ability to operate independently, bringing solutions and prioritization to complex product growth problems
- Deep technical knowledge of solar, energy storage, general electrical concepts, and home construction
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering or technical discipline (MBA a strong plus)
- Effective communication and exceptional interpersonal skills
- A relentless drive to make things happen, without accepting the status quo
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience and comfort working with large datasets to drive decision making
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Strong knowledge of global energy storage markets and experience working directly with business development, product marketing teams
- Direct experience in driving a hardware product roadmap and interfacing with technical engineering teams
