Fermilab’s Human Resources Division is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager who will be responsible for the design and execution of attraction and hiring strategies to meet the needs of the Laboratory. The candidate will provide consultation, facilitation, and proactively address staffing challenges and needs. There is a critical focus on creative solutions, continuous process improvements across the hiring cycle, and leveraging metrics to decision making. This position will manage a team of recruitment experts, collaborate with other functions within HR and organizational leaders to deliver cost-effective hiring solutions.


You Will:


  • Manage, mentor, train, and evaluate talent acquisition team members.
  • Use the ATS system to identify and utilize recruitment metrics that inform the status of the talent acquisition process. Monitor and manage data for accuracy and identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Contribute effectively within a diverse workforce, and uphold Fermilab’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Leverage a variety of recruiting techniques (including sourcing, networking, campus recruitment, social media navigation) to meet hiring/ workforce requirements.
  • Assess current internal and external recruitment practices and policies in partnership with laboratory leadership and recommend opportunities for process improvements.
  • Assess and evaluate new hire process to ensure new employees transition smoothly into the organization. Implement efficiencies and improvements to the process.
  • Design and execute an end-to-end talent acquisition strategy.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to assess and improve the candidate experience.
  • Partner with the Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion department to facilitate inclusive recruitment practices across the laboratory.
  • Use applicant tracking system (Workday) to ensure our hiring process is effective and efficient.
  • Establish relationships with key internal and external partners to assure our outreach is inclusive and the pipelines are diverse and robust.
  • Provide strategic recommendations by studying the competitive landscape, industry trends, methodologies, legal developments, and benchmark comparisons. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on recruiting activities.


We Are Looking For:


  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state employment and laws, labor laws.
  • Ability to operate enterprise business systems including Microsoft Office suite, Workday Human Capital Management System.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and integrity.
  • Advanced experience with building the employer brand and latest recruitment trends to identify inclusive candidates
  • Advanced knowledge of core HR functions such as talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, talent development, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field and minimum 7 years HR experience or Master’s degree and 5 years HR managerial experience or equivalent. Preferred experience with five or more years of leading a Talent Acquisition team.
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills; strong presentation, editing and visual design skills.
