Job Description

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for achieving the sales goals and objectives established for the organization by developing and implementing strategies that effectively connect operational capabilities to opportunities. Continually evaluates the sales strategies and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Directs and coordinates the activities and efforts of sales staff in support of established strategy.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop short- and long-term strategic plans for sales that align with, and support, established organizational objectives targeted at a variety of sales channels including quick service restaurants, foodservice, retail, and others as opportunity develops
  • Job leads/supervises/manages employees
  • Direct the implementation, management, and administration of sales strategies by working through sales staff responsible for turning established sales strategies into effective programs and initiatives that yield results
  • Build and maintain effective long-term partnering relationships with customer leadership that provides the organization with a stable customer base and insight into future needs, including sustainability and related sales opportunities
  • Develop and direct the implementation of effective and coordinated communication budgets and strategies that support sales plan objectives
  • Job manages a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage the team
  • Continuously review and analyze external market and competitor trends as well as internal manufacturing capability to ensure continued alignment between sales plans and environment; make and communicate adjustments to plans and strategies as needed


Requirements:

  • Proven ability to grow a multi-billion dollar business
  • Retail/Big Box sales experience
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex and profitable food manufacturing sales contracts in food service, retail, and quick service restaurant sales channels
  • 10 or more years of progressively more responsible roles working in, and leading, a sales function within the food manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing, supply chain, and commercialization processes that support sales initiatives
  • Ability to build, manage, and motivate effective and cohesive sales teams and to achieve established goals working through others
