About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

At Salesforce, the Global Enablement organization delivers learning programs to advance the capabilities that our sellers need to drive success for our customers and business. Whether it be through our first-in-class, patent pending AI products or by driving insights on the impact of Enablement programs on global seller performance, the Performance & Analytics team equips the organization with the data and insights it needs to be a critically important revenue generator for our business.

As a Senior Manager on the Performance & Analytics team, you will be responsible for the overall success for our existing and potential future products within Global Enablement, including shaping the overall vision and strategy based on business needs and stakeholder feedback, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and execute the product vision and strategy, and ensuring our products align with business objectives and stakeholder needs. On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Manager will be responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog, staying accessible to the development team to answer questions and prioritize tasks when blockers arise, and ensure that continuous progress is made towards the sprint plan. The Senior Manager will be the bridge between strategy and product development, understanding the larger business objectives and strategy, articulating what success looks like for our products, and rallying the development team to turn that vision into a reality.

Description

The Performance & Analytics team is currently the business owner of two products (automated machine learning engines using causal AI, surfaced via Tableau Dashboard interfaces) that drive insights on Global Enablement impact on seller performance. The Senior Manager will be the bridge between strategy and product development, understanding the larger business objectives and strategy, articulating what success looks like for our products, and rallying the development team to turn that vision into a reality.

On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Manager will be responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog, staying accessible to the development team to answer questions and prioritize tasks when blockers arise, and ensure that continuous progress is made towards the sprint plan. As the product owner and subject matter expert of our products, the Senior Manager will also drive change management efforts and lend support to stakeholders across the organization that use these insights to inform their work.

The successful candidate will possess excellent project management, prioritization, and communication skills, and have the ability to deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Senior Manager must be able to thrive at both an executive/strategic level (long-term strategy, generating innovative ideas for growth, change management) and the tactical level (day-to-day project management, removing blockers, solving problems). The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, highly influential, and can walk our stakeholders and leaders through the rationale behind a decision while garnering consensus. To thrive in this role, the Senior Manager will be passionate about “progress over perfection,” relentlessly moving our work forward even when roadblocks arise.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Balances the inputs and priorities of multiple stakeholder groups, leveraging strategic prioritization skills and subject matter expertise to lead Scrum team in developing the products
  • Drives change management efforts and user adoption of our products across the organization, encouraging business stakeholders to use our insights for data-driven decision making
  • Brings thought leadership and develops others on possibilities in this product area
  • Effectively communicates the direction and priorities of our products across varying levels of the organization, from executives, stakeholders, and developers; securing buy-in to changes reflected on the product roadmap
  • Manages intake submissions of new requests, monthly deployments, and release schedules
  • Manages and grooms the product backlog, helping prioritize the team’s time based on the value that will be delivered, writes user stories, and guides scrum teams throughout their sprints
  • Tracks progress of work towards agreed timelines for deliverables to ensure the health and progress of the holistic delivery roadmap, while also identifying, assessing, tracking and mitigating issues and risks at multiple levels
  • Translates business needs, business goals, executive priorities, and end user needs into a cohesive product strategy, owning the roadmap for delivering transformation projects, product enhancements, and ensuring that the systems continue to run as efficiently as possible
  • Identifies goals, metrics and analytics to determine product value, continually makes recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings

Target Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Highly skilled in leading scope definition, authoring business requirements and user stories, defining use cases and end to end testing conditions, and driving technical implementations
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and program management skills with high attention to detail coupled with strong ability to multi-task across a series of concurrent initiatives
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively present across many levels of the organization, influence varied stakeholder groups, and synthesize key messages for executive leadership
  • 8+ years experience working in business consulting, product management, product ownership, or a related field, with proven experience leading a successful product team within a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion to inspire others. Experience as a people leader and leading cross-functional teams is preferred.
  • Strong influential leadership and relationship management skills with passion for collaboration, effectively partnering in an environment of diverse perspectives and across a global organization
  • Proven experience leading through ambiguity and ability to flexibly adapt to shifting business priorities, internal, and market forces
