Job Description
Job Summary:


This is a high-visibility role on an exciting new business for Masimo that is projected to deliver significant growth for the organization. The Sr. Marketing Manager is responsible for delivering the company’s business objectives by leading upstream marketing for the Consumer Health business, including category understanding, consumer/customer insight generation, product definition, and future product pipeline strategy and roadmap. Additionally, as the product SME, this role will support Brand Marketing and Go-To-Market teams to ensure launch excellence. The position must work collaboratively across functions, with emphasis on Engineering, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Health Economics, Operations, Brand Marketing, GTM, and Channel Sales.


Duties & Responsibilities:


Pipeline Strategy and Roadmap Development:


  • In partnership with R&D, drive product innovation pipeline strategy and roadmap development based on consumer unmet needs, market drivers, competitive landscape, and market trends. Leverage business case, strategic fit, alignment to Masimo vision, and ability to own and differentiate.


Product definition:


  • Participate in product launch teams and support product launch activities.
  • In parallel to product development, develop and validate Positioning, Targeting, and Product Messaging, in partnership with the Brand and GTM teams, Markets/Regions, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal functions.
  • Lead and align organization on consumer and customer knowledge gaps. Leverage data to represent VOC (Customer and Consumer) to R&D and management, including output from Sales, GTM, Research, online consumer reviews, and direct conversations with customers and consumers.
  • In partnership with R&D, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Regulatory, work on product definition to deliver a final product that is consumer-centric and customer-led, both in form and function, while keeping organizational growth and margin goals in mind. This includes leading and driving the whole process, starting with Product Brief, and ending with final delivered product.
  • Coordinate project assignments and communication across Marketing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Medical Affairs, HEMA, and Regulatory departments.


Launch readiness:


  • Support GTM team, Regions, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations in new product launches, including delivering on sampling needs and providing responses to product-related questions.
  • Support Regulatory partners with the submissions as required/needed/appropriate.
  • Provide input into and support behind development of global launch toolkit, including website, campaign concepts and assets and channel-specific assets (retail, online, clinic/practice, etc). Leverage consumer and customer insights gained during product assessment and development.
  • Align regions to global expansion plans, and support Regulatory and local teams in securing clearance and ensuring product is ready with translated packaging, labeling, and apps.
  • Lead packaging and labeling development for new products/markets in partnership with ID/Packaging and Technical Documents team.


Participate in and/or lead special projects to support overall advancement of Masimo.


Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Experience & Skills:


  • Experience working upstream with development teams in regulated categories to support regulatory submissions, clinical studies, and future reimbursement opportunities.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in upstream/global product marketing or product planning, focused on roadmap and product development.
  • Experience with regulated healthcare product downstream marketing and selling a plus. This includes knowledge around real-world clinical data generation, health economics/reimbursement, HCP vs. Consumer value propositions.
  • Insight-driven marketer who is comfortable with interpreting market research, converting to actionable insights and strategies that will be shared for alignment on roadmap, product requirements, business model, and strategy improvements.
  • Strong knowledge and grasp of brand building framework (consumer insight-centric innovation, targeting/segmentation, positioning, messaging)
  • Knowledge of agency management: brief and guide agencies to deliver best-in-class output
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Global experience
  • Launched at least one brand that either disrupted or created a category
  • Experience with premium products ideal
  • Experience marketing to healthcare professionals is desirable
  • Experience in consumer med tech across fitness, wellness, health, conditions, and telehealth is strongly preferred
