Okta is looking for an experienced Technology Sourcing Manager to join our energetic Strategic Sourcing team to support and be part of Okta’s continued growth. You will have an opportunity to directly lead a team of 1-2 Category Managers and work with offshore procurement resources (as needed). You will have a chance to lead the Sourcing initiatives for categories including Software (SaaS), IT Hardware, Cloud Services & Data center, Telecom etc.


The responsibilities of this role will include developing and executing Category Sourcing Strategies to drive down cost, conduct strategic sourcing events (including RFPs) and negotiating acceptable terms and conditions with Okta’s suppliers. The position will perform data analytics and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and other Strategic Sourcing team members to meet stakeholder requirements, create value, ensure process compliance, and generate negotiated cost savings and avoidances. Experience with high value/complex contract negotiations & management and senior level stakeholder relationship management is required. The candidate in this role is expected to build relationships with internal business partners working with cross-functional groups to support negotiations, risk mitigation and supplier management.

This position will be remote. You will report to the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement.


Responsibilities:


  • Proactively develop cost savings category sourcing strategies while supporting business initiatives.
  • Gather business and technical requirements and produce needed documentation to run RFx events.
  • Develop internal presentations and business case to support management approvals of multi-year


supplier agreements.
  • Provide economic analysis of supplier proposals and various internal management inquiries for existing


or potential supplier expenditures. Identify and detail both internal and external risks associated with


technology purchase transactions.
  • Work with internal partners to identify risks and dependencies and address them via both operational


and contractual means.
  • Work with Finance, Legal, Security, Privacy, and other subject matter authorities within Okta to ensure


that the policies and procedures and followed and met.
  • Build effective, strategic relationships with the business units/stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-


functional teams.
  • Lead and support all aspects of the strategic sourcing process, including RFx, supplier evaluations, and


day-to-day commercial contract negotiations and projects.
  • Drive supplier performance review meetings with key suppliers and provide input on performance and


future needs/strategic planning.
  • Measure supplier performance against contract Service Level Agreements and expectations, manage


any remediation as required.
  • Use experience and industry expertise to find opportunities to optimize cost, improve service and other


efficiency opportunities.
  • Drive M&A activity from Strategic Sourcing’s perspective, i.e. contract novation and consolidation.
  • Provide input for areas of opportunity and make recommendations where applicable for projects, departments, or across the company for operational improvements and efficiencies.
  • Communicate proactively with internal and external partners.
  • Conduct spend analytics to identify areas of opportunity for streamlining and consolidation of spend.


Requirements:
  • 8+ years of shown experience in Sourcing and Procurement of Technology (Hardware, Software [SaaS], Cloud, Telecom etc.), Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Consulting, Vendor Management, Risk Management and/or Procurement in a large, global company environment (required)
  • Flexible and adaptable in handling/implementing change and understands how that change will affect
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of contract law and risks
  • Ability to develop and present data drive concise analysis to the management
  • Expertise in sourcing policy, procedures, and processes

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:


$122,000—$165,000 USD


The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:


$135,000—$182,000 USD
