General Description

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Application Engineer to join our team. Reporting to our Sr. Manager Enterprise Applications, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of enterprise applications for a variety of business units. The individual will be responsible for end-to-end development of custom applications using BeiGene’s low-code platform (Outsystems), as well as other technologies including Python, SQL and RPA tools. This includes working with IT leads and other developers to understand and transform business requirements in to fully functional applications.

The ideal candidate should bring software development expertise as well as ability to work on multiple projects across different functions for a global, geographically diverse environment. The individual must be able to assess business requirements and provide technical expertise in determining the most appropriate solution to meet business goals with focus on innovation, usability and automation. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of enterprise IT system investments.

Essential Functions Of The Job

Project Execution

• Develop Powershell and Python scripts for data extract and automation from enterprise applications and/or O365/AD environments to other downstream systems.
• Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
• Construct innovative and responsive user interfaces including mobile interface.
• Develop, test, and maintain custom web-based applications created using low-code platform (Outsystems)
• Conform Code quality, code performance, code security and participate in code reviews.
• Manage project tasks to ensure tasks and/or workstreams within the larger project is completed in a timely manner.
• Partner with Service Desk and IT Operations to develop post-implementation support structure
• Address issues related to application access, connectivity and performance. Test any fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure issues have been adequately addressed.
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, RDBMS and SQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, Azure serverless, and a variety of AWS/Azure tools and services.
• Analyze user enhancement requests to deliver solutions focused on establishing and improving business processes, addressing process gaps, and enabling automation and growth of the organization.
• Act as technical subject matter expert in configuration, development and deployment of new systems, and enhancements to existing enterprise wide computerized systems including but not limited to global applications, finance, legal, HR, clinical, regulatory, R&D and other enterprise systems.
• Develop and configure integrations between enterprise systems and/or third party products via web services, applications APIs, ETL or enterprise integration platform services utilizing scripting languages and RPA tools.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of both Windows server and Linux environments
• Git source control
• Exposure to project-based work structures.
• 5+ years direct experience developing enterprise applications with a focus on cloud systems
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems or equivalent required
• Experience in Cloud/SaaS environment and core technologies including O365, AWS, Azure and SSO
• Experience in web and mobile development: HTML, CSS, UX and UI design, JavaScript, Python, Relational Databases, .NET
• Experience developing and maintaining applications in a low code development platform such as Outsystems, Salesforce Lightning or Appian
• Proven experience in planning, installation and implementation of software solutions
• Development experience in Reactive, Web and/or Mobile applications

Other Qualifications

• Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth)
• Strong process improvement skills and orientation
• CI/CD pipeline tools - Git, Maven, Jenkins
• Must have proven business and technology skills, with success providing customer-oriented technology solutions environment
• Experience with the Agile methodology

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field/experiences

Salary Range: $111,500.00 - $146,500.00 annually

Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
