Summary

The Director of IT will manage a small, highly valued IT team and oversee the organization’s technology governance, infrastructure, and functionality. They will work with business leaders to understand technological needs and implement and maintain policies and processes that support the organization’s technology ecosystem. This position will guide the utilization of information systems to improve the company’s efficiency and ensure that related technology (hardware and software) is updated and maintained to meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage contingency planning and cost-benefit analysis for the department.
• Oversee day-to-day IT activities as well as identify and improve regular processes (some travel required).
• Ensure the functionality of the technology infrastructure by creating and maintaining operational applications; securing and storing electronic data that belongs to the organization; and assisting in the use of software and data management in all functional areas of the organization.
• Manage, lead, and develop the technology team including training initiatives, performance coaching, and hands-on support.
• Develop, operate, monitor, and report on the technology budget.
• Ensure the IT infrastructure, including hardware components, network, circuitry, and all other equipment necessary to the function of the IT infrastructure is designed and maintained according to program and departmental needs.
• Design and implement policies and processes for IT.
• Ensure IT governance processes and procedures are in place related to the organization’s systems, architecture, networks, and master data.

Requirements

• Exceptional leadership skills with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of technology management experience in a related field, or ten years of technology management experience in a related field with proven ability to stay abreast of and implement changing technology.
• Proven experience in network and cloud computing technology, server and data center operations, end-user devices, help desk systems and tools, and vendor management.
• Understanding of Data and Systems Governance Best Practices.
