Job Description

The Strategic Growth team at Newlab is on the hunt for a forward-looking Strategist with 2-4 years of experience to be a pivotal force in our expansion. Newlab is where innovation comes to life. Our Strategic Growth team is responsible for looking into the future and identifying where Newlab needs to be building partnerships and driving progress. This team focuses specifically on large public private partnerships and geographic expansion.


Role & Responsibilities:


Thesis & Opportunity Development (50%):


  • Communicate findings effectively and strategically to internal stakeholders and external audiences
  • Dive into market research, extracting hidden gems and propelling initiatives forward
  • Elevate yourself into a subject matter expert overnight in new opportunity spaces
  • Synthesize cultural, market, and industry intelligence into actionable insights
  • Collaborate with brand and marketing teams to articulate Newlab's perspective on emerging challenges
  • Master the art of packaging market analysis into strategic rationale and internal business cases
  • Scout for potential partners to supercharge initiative advancement


Partnership Development (25%):


  • Curate pipelines of strategic partners and collaboration opportunities
  • Craft compelling pitch presentations that resonate with potential partners
  • Engineer valuable synergies between partner networks for impactful projects
  • Skillfully navigate complex stakeholder relationships


Strategic Operations (25%):


  • Facilitate knowledge exchange among different Newlab departments and stakeholders
  • Drive process systemization and tool development for efficient sensing efforts
  • Architect the operational framework for the Strategic Growth team
  • Maintain deal and partner pipelines with crystal-clear communication
  • Develop dynamic metrics, enabling transparent initiative tracking
  • Bridge communication between the Strategic Growth team and the organization's Business Process working group
  • Take ownership of HubSpot, ensuring seamless team operation


Who You Are:


Experience:


  • Exposure to deep technology sectors; climate-related experience a plus
  • Accomplished in partnership development and stakeholder relationship management
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Proven track record in market research, landscape analyses, and external stakeholder engagement
  • Enthusiasm for researching and supporting transformative technologies driving the energy transition
  • Experience in crafting meaningful progress reports and metrics
  • 3-4 years of full-time work experience, preferably in consulting, strategy, or business operations


Skills:


  • Skilled in coalition building and leading cross-functional teams
  • Creative thinker who connects dots others might miss
  • Quick adoption of technological tools
  • Operational prowess, adept at managing projects with various stakeholders
  • Systems thinker, capable of understanding holistic interdependencies
  • Adept in market research and synthesis, with an eye for spotting opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in CRM tools like HubSpot and Airtable
