Description:
The Open Foreign Policy Initiative is a political project committed to redefining America's global participation. We focus on harnessing the potential of enhanced cultural exchange, the merits of investing in international development, and the power of multilateral cooperation in national security.
In a period marked by domestic and global crises, the Open Foreign Policy Initiative actively engages with regional stakeholders to produce research and programming that capture dynamics crucial to analyzing global shifts. We are looking for driven, thoughtful, and creative applicants for our Foreign Policy Associate (Intern) roles.
Each Director would manage one of our eight regional centers — Southeast Asia, East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and Northern Africa, Eurasia, Americas, South Asia, and Europe — depending on their interests and competencies. Directors will coordinate with the President to devise dialogue, events, research, and strategic partnerships.
This is an opportunity to take part in the Initiative’s mission and connect it to the world. Associates will build connections with influential organizations and individuals and gain interpersonal, research, and managerial skills easily transferrable to other fields. They will also join a community of future decision-makers, who grow in their ability to build coalitions and solve the problems of the future.
Requirements:
- Ability to balance long and short-term tasks.
- Intercultural competency.
- Have an interest in international relations, global culture, and/or geo-economics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Language, coding, graphic design, and UI/UX skills are a plus but are not required.
- Previous internship, research, or leadership experiences are a plus but are not required.
- A strong professional, academic, and/or personal background in one of our eight regions.
Duration:
From July 2023 to May 2024 for 5-10 hours per week.
To Apply:
Please submit your resume (cover letter optional).
Note:
The Open Foreign Policy Initiative is a start-up project, and all of our roles are remote and volunteer-based (unpaid). The Initiative is firmly non-partisan and welcomes members from all nationalities and political orientations.
