We're seeking an experienced consultant to facilitate market research, qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and synthesis to support a university (HBCU) client. This is a one-year part-time contract opportunity.
Scope of Work
MARKET RESEARCH
- Analyze website, organic search (SEO), paid search strategy, and social media strategy
- Analyze degree completion data to determine if there’s a demand for specific programs
- Analyze key themes from Indeed and Glassdoor on the university's employer brand
- Assess competitors' brand personality, style, tone
- Conduct market research for university competitors to establish brand context
- Review core recruitment marketing messaging and job posting language
- Analyze job postings data to determine programs that align with workforce needs and prospective student groups
- Competitor academic program analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation
DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS/SYNTHESIS
- Design and administer a survey, and analyze and synthesize survey results
- Design and facilitate interviews and focus groups (virtually)
- Analyze and synthesize data and deliver a Current State Assessment report - prepared as a deck for storytelling.
PERFORMANCE MONITORING MARKET RESEARCH
- Develop and execute a process to assess the effectiveness of the client's marketing strategy on an ongoing basis.
- Monitor the market landscape (competitor and industry trends)
- Administer focus groups as needed to test early creative assets
Required Qualifications
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data and communicate the story through data visualization
- Strong knowledge of data collection methods (focus groups and surveys)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Minimum five years of proven experience in Market Research Analysis, Brand Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field.
- Search engines, web analytics, and business research tools acumen
- Superb communication and presentation skills
