Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Program Manager serves as a member of a dynamic, expert, interactive research and finance team that provides efficient, thorough, accurate, compliant and investigator-friendly research projects and clinical trials support. This research-based support includes administrative, financial and laboratory space and equipment management as well as project development. He/She will need to be organized and have strong communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business or related field plus five (5) years of research project management, budget development, clinical research, or hospital administration experience or
  • High School diploma/GED plus nine (9) years of research project management, budget development, clinical research, or hospital administration experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Basic science lab skills
  • Collection and analysis of data.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic science laboratory skills and Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols.
  • Medical or lab facility exposure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • EPIC and Workday experience
  • CRS/CMPA certification
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Office of Sponsored Projects Administrative Network (OSPAN), and assist in reviewing, preparing and providing financial reports to the Principal Investigators (PIs), Department Director and Administrators as needed for project budget management and budge creation for grant applications.
  • Assist the Experimental Pathology Director and faculty with collection of data, statistical and graphical analysis of date.
  • Work in conjunction with the Experimental Pathology Division's Administrative Analyst to support operational duties including supplies, services and equipment procurement, investigator and staff travel and facilities upkeep, tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that both institutional and regulatory compliance policies and guidelines are adhered to as well as compliant operation of the Division.
  • Perform general laboratory support tasks as defined by the Experimental Pathology Director.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as liaison and work closely with Pathology Department faculty, administrative staff and offices for safety and compliance (including: Department of Laboratory and Animal Medicine (DLAM), Institutional Review Board (IRB), Clinical Trials Offices), and all other UAMS offices on behalf of the Experimental Pathology Division.
  • Assis experimental pathology with laboratory inventory and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with Core lab billing and reporting as well as clinical trial project including review and approval of study participant charges in EPIC and payment of study related transaction via UAMS financial or petty cash system.
  • Assist Pathology Faculty in the department, preparation and submission of grant and contract proposals.
  • Assist in updating web resources and generating reports as needed via PubMed or profiles.
  • Ensures all applications meet agency and university guidelines and published timetables and deadlines.
