Summary:
The Midwest Regional Sales Manager will cover retail accounts in Nationally, for Trident Seafoods. In this position, the individual will execute sales activities of this assigned territory and assigned products by performing the following duties personally.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Mid-west Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meets with buyers to maintain relationships and negotiate and close deals.
- Prepares monthly reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Provides sales forecasting activities as needed and is responsible for the accuracy of such forecast; works with Sales Director and other key stakeholders toward the successful achievement of sales and business development goals.
- Develops and grows all seafood product category sales across multiple departments at key retailers.
- Develops deep relationships with customers to further the linkage between Trident and the customer.
- Partners with other internal departments (Credit, Sales Support, Production, Logistics) to conduct sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborates with Marketing, Research & Development, and Category Managers in developing a sales and pricing strategy for new and existing products.
- Ensures that special product requests from customers are quickly met through a partnership with Sales Director, Research & Development, and Production.
- Reviews supply chain forecast weekly against results and meets monthly with the Demand Planning group.
- Gathers market data to determine potential market demands, merchandising plans, and customer-specific requirements. Shares data with internal partners and anticipates future trends.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to attend customer-sponsored charitable events and industry trade shows.
- Ability to travel to our facilities in the L48 and Alaska and meet with Sales Managers and key customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or equivalent area of focus; or equivalent combination of education experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in food sales
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the seafood industry
- Experience working with Kroger, Albertson’s, Safeway, and Trader Joe’s
- Ability to speak effectively with customers, including understanding cultural norms.
- Foreign language skills for the target geographic region
- 10 years of experience with food sales.
This is a Salaried – Exempt position with an annualized salary range of: $90,000 - $130,000

Additional benefits could include a signing bonus.
