Summary:
The SE Regional Sales Manager - Will cover retail accounts in the Midwest, and Southeast, for Trident Seafoods. In this position, the individual will execute sales activities of this assigned territory and assigned products by performing the following duties personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops deep relationships with customers to further the linkage between Trident and the customer.
- Collaborates with Marketing, Research & Development, and Category Managers in developing a sales and pricing strategy for new and existing products.
- Prepares monthly reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Gathers market data to determine potential market demands, merchandising plans, and customer-specific requirements. Shares data with internal partners and anticipates future trends.
- Ensures that special product requests from customers are quickly met through a partnership with Sales Director, Research & Development, and Production.
- Develops and grows all seafood product category sales across multiple departments at key retailers.
- Provides sales forecasting activities as needed and is responsible for the accuracy of such forecast; works with Sales Director and other key stakeholders toward the successful achievement of sales and business development goals.
- Reviews supply chain forecast weekly against results and meets monthly with the Demand Planning group.
- Partners with other internal departments (Credit, Sales Support, Production, Logistics) to conduct sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Meets with buyers to maintain relationships and negotiate and close deals.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or equivalent area of focus; or equivalent combination of education experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in food sales,
- Ability to travel to our facilities in the L48 and Alaska and meet with Sales Managers and key customers.
- Attend customer-sponsored charitable events and industry trade shows.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Publix, Food Lion, SEG, Ingles, Kwik Trip, and AWG
- Experience working in the Southeast and/or Midwest regions of the Unites States
- Experience working in the seafood industry
- Foreign language skills for the target geographic region
- Ability to speak effectively with customers, including understanding cultural norms.
Special Training/Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Mental Activities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand English, and utilize teamwork skills. The employee is frequently required to speak English, and use decision making skills. The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service, mentoring, problem analysis, training and supervision skills. The employee will be occasionally required to read and write English, perform basic math, use exercise independent judgment, and use discretion.
This is a Salaried – Exempt position with an annualized salary range of: $90,000 - $130,000
Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, HRA/HSA with employer contribution, EAP, wellness programs, and annual discretionary/performance bonuses. Employees may enroll in Trident’s 401(k) plan with partial employer match, and adoption assistance. Group rates for long- and short-term disability, and supplemental life & disability insurance. Employees will also receive 3.08 hours paid vacation and 2.16 hours of paid sick time per two-week pay period and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year, along with paid parental leave. Additional benefits could include a signing bonus.
