Job Description


We have an opportunity for a Regional Distribution Sales Manager to join our Manitowoc Ice sales team covering the west central region. Pentair recently acquired Manitowoc Ice - a global leader in commercial ice makers. This acquisition enhances our delivery of total water management offerings to an expanded network of channel partners and customers, further establishing Pentair as a global leader in a vast and growing industry. You will own your region, including leading and influencing sales strategies and outcomes at our best-in-class distributors.


** This posting is for one regional sales role and ideal candidates will be located anywhere in or near the region. **


You Will


  • Develop and implement sales and market growth strategies and assist channel partners in implementing such programs to grow sales and relationships in the region.
  • Analyze customer specifications in complex deals to determine proper product applications and/or accessories, provide expertise and recommend solutions to application and performance problems related to equipment in the field.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of our products across the entire professional channel / portfolio to address customer needs and promote brand awareness and preference among our distributor partners.
  • Build relationships with key channel partners and influence sales of products and services by holding regular technical presentations, training seminars, attending tradeshows, and/or providing on-site support and application selection.
  • Analyze sales trends, monitor sales performance, and provide guidance, forecasts, and support to distributor sales teams and Ice Specialists.


Key Qualifications


  • Experience managing a channel of distributor sales teams or 3rd party sales organizations.
  • Have 7+ years of experience in the commercial food service equipment and supply industry, with a proven ability to grow sales from identification of customer to execution of contract or sales order.
  • Excellent communication skills across various audiences.
  • Have earned a bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an ability to train others, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations related to commercial or industrial food service equipment.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to develop strategic initiatives to grow sales.


Travel


  • 50 – 75% (including overnight) to distributors, dealers, customers, events, tradeshows, and other business-related meetings.
