Role Overview
As a Regional Sales Manager, you'll be the friendly face of our company, forging meaningful connections with our customers and the hardworking contractors who use our products. You'll take charge of a designated territory, leading a team and nurturing it as if it were your own business. We believe in growth, both for our products and for our people, and this role is all about driving sales and profits while fostering teamwork and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and Inspire: Direct the activities of our dedicated sales agents and Territory Managers. Your role involves daily interactions with contractors and distributors, ensuring profitable product sales, offering training, attending customer buying shows, and more.
Mentorship and Training: Continuously evaluate and provide guidance to our sales agents and TM's, helping them reach their full potential.
Building Relationships: Personally connect with contractors and distributors, creating strong personal bonds at regional, district, and branch levels.
Sales Growth: Drive sales growth and profit expansion with different types of distributors, including one step, two step, manufactured housing, and block house distributors.
Product Expertise: Become a guru in all things related to our products, installation methods, and best practices.
Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular market and sales agent evaluations, ensuring that everyone is aligned with our goals.
Goal Setting: Set and track sales goals, working within budget constraints while ensuring our promotions are strategically planned.
Team Management: Address personnel issues within your team and actively participate in the annual budgeting process.
Accountability: You'll be accountable for reaching and exceeding both top-line and profit goals for your region.
Forecasting: Provide accurate monthly forecasts for your region and secure price increases when necessary.
Multitasking: Manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate effectively with upper management about regional market trends.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with supply chain, operations, finance, and other departments within the company.
Travel: Be ready to hit the road! Travel up to 85% within your assigned region.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in progressively increasing sales or a combination of education and experience.
Leadership Skills: A strong leader who can coach and elevate their team's performance.
Empathy and Adaptability: Understand challenges and collaborate effectively across various functions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong negotiation tactics.
Initiative: Proactive and independent, with a natural ability to take the lead.
Time Management: Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
