Job Overview


The Regional Director, Service, supporting our Western US Service Region (West of Mississippi River) manages all hands-on operational aspects and objectives of their assigned service region and overseas a team of region/area managers. The position provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the service organization has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining high levels of productivity, cost effectiveness and performance. The position is also responsible for the metrics of the service organization, its financial health, and ensuring target objectives are met.


Job Responsibilities And Essential Duties


  • Motivate and lead a high-performance service team; attract, recruit and retain members of the service organization; provide mentoring.
  • Partner with other functional areas such as Sales, IT, Customer Service, Marketing, and the Business Units to develop strategies to grow revenue within the Service business.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), International Standards (ISO)/Quality Systems Regulation (QSR), etc.)
  • Create an entrepreneurial environment with Getinge’s vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
  • Monitors progress of service groups toward divisional and company goals.
  • Oversee the definition and execution of the service and support business development activities consistent with organization’s corporate strategy. Evaluate the potential benefits and risks associated with new service and support business opportunities.
  • Utilize technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies.
  • Make and execute operational decisions with a strategic perspective. Develops and articulates a strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the measurement and continuous improvement of the Service organization.
  • Create mid- to long-range plans to carry out objectives established by top management; develops and calculates a budget to meet organizational goals.
  • Direct and control the activities and budget of functional areas, product groups and/or operations of the service organization.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for integrated operations to ensure the service operations align with business requirements.
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership and interacts internally and externally with executive level management, Business Units, customers, vendors and/or suppliers.
  • Coordinate across functional areas, business units and geographies in order to achieve company or area goals.


Minimum Requirements


  • A minimum of 2 years of successful regional management experience within the company, or 7 years of service management experience in medical devices.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • 10+ years of related work experience in Service.
  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced degree is preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Able of work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives, where assignments are often self-initiated.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Excel. Intermediate skills in Word and Outlook and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Capable of utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies in a major segment of the company.
  • Able to project manage, prioritize and multi-task in a highly demanding environment.
  • Capable of performing the job in a quality system environment.
  • Proven skills making and executing operational decisions with a strategic perspective.
  • Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • Able to effectively direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups and/or operations.
  • Coordinate across functional areas, business units, and/or geographies in order to achieve company or area goals.
