Job Description

Our client, Carr Lane Manufacturing is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner responsible for HR leadership in their St. Louis, MO and Austin, TX facilities.


Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, The Human Resources Business Partner will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including employee engagement, employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management (employee development, performance reviews, etc.), and total compensation (benefits, programs, compensation).


You will act as a strategic Human Resources partner and consult with the leadership team on all HR matters; driving employee engagement and hiring strategy for key initiatives and developing and leading top-performing Human Resources (HR) team. Coach, mentor, and develop HR team members.


Detailed Scope:

  • Lead further development of recruiting strategies for Austin and St. Louis locations. Support the design and implementation of cost-effective and “best in class” recruiting and retention strategies.
  • Handle any sensitive HR matters; investigate, coach, and counsel as needed. Partner with an Employment Law attorney as needed.
  • Assist with the Job Grading Project, and partner with President and leaders to match employees to appropriate roles.
  • Assist with the final review of new policies and procedures and implementation. Identify opportunities for further change.
  • Partner with Carr Lane Roemheld team as an HR Business Partner; assist with recruiting, share HR expertise and knowledge, and coach through situations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations. Ensure Carr Lane follows all appropriate OSHA recommendations and guidelines.
  • Review, evaluate, and respond to all unemployment claims.
  • Manage the PayScale Compensation tool and maximize utilization.
  • Manage benefits plans and programs; partner with consultants as needed. Explore optional benefits, health savings accounts, etc.
  • As the leader of Employee Relations, develop relationships with a multicultural workforce to help build employee engagement, evaluate, and resolve issues.
  • Manage HRIS system, Paycor. Manage relationship with Paycor team, identify and recommend additional components.
  • Establish employee relations toolkit for Austin and St. Louis locations and coach HR team members. Provide coaching and direction to managers as needed.
  • Partner with Chief Administrative Officer to execute talent management program; establish new employee experience, continue succession planning discussions.
  • Produce EEO reports on a yearly basis.
  • Partner with Chief Administrative Officer on key HR projects and initiatives
  • Investigate and manage any worker’s compensation matters, partnering with outside vendors as needed.
  • Lead yearly performance review and compensation process. Coach and train leaders as needed. Partner with CAO and CFO on compensation review project.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field
  • Experience leading a small team, and/or mentoring/developing others.
  • Partnership mentality; consultative skills, problem-solving skills, growth mindset, strong critical thinking, and collaboration skills
  • Experience working in an HRIS system.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
