This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free work space and an internet connection that’s sufficient for completing their job remotely.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the successful Loss Mitigation Representative II – Legal Collection utilizes a positive attitude, good judgment, professional discipline, and superior communication skills to:
  • Explain information and/or action needed;
  • Identify situations that may require deviation from routine processes/procedures; and actively pursue mutually agreeable solutions for Harley-Davidson, our riders, and those who represent them.
  • Asses and understand customer needs;
  • Investigate complex situations to determine appropriate options;
  • Negotiate terms for the collection of monies owed and/or settlement when appropriate;
Job Responsibilities
Loss Mitigation-Legal Collection Representatives may be required to perform essential duties for accounts involving:
  • Legal collection of delinquent and/or charged-off loans, including (but not limited to) accounts involved in active replevin cases, all stages of bankruptcy, post-judgment accounts, and/or other situations involving attorney representation;
  • Case management and follow-up with assigned repo/skip vendors, field investigators, and/or other vendors
  • Verbal and written communication with law firms, including opposing counsel as appropriate
  • Negotiation and follow-up with involved third parties, dealers, impound/storage facilities, municipal authorities, and/or law enforcement
  • Investigation and skip-tracing activities to locate collateral and debtors
Working within Company guidelines for handling highly-specialized portfolios, team members must:
  • Make decisions in the best interests of Harley-Davidson Financial Services, Inc. and our riders
  • Maintain awareness/understanding of and compliance with appropriate banking laws & regulations, plus internal policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as requested
  • Actively participate in the training & development of fellow team members and themselves
  • Use effective time management to ensure rider service experiences meet/exceed expectations

Education Specifications
High School Diploma/GED - Required
Experience Requirements
  • Sustained record of good attendance and punctuality
  • Positive attitude and strong team-focused work ethic
  • Excellent active listening and oral/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assess rapidly changing situations, develop possible solutions, and show initiative to negotiate and implement a mutually agreeable outcome
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Customer Service, Loss Mitigation, and/or Collections
  • Detail-oriented, highly-organized, and effective time management skills to handle significant work volume in a computerized environment
Experience Preferred
  • Law enforcement and/or military background may be a plus
  • Successful track record in consumer credit legal collection or insurance claim resolution in the vehicle finance industry
  • Working knowledge of Ride Link or equivalent loan management system

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
