The Navigator Specialist is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining high-level Navigator items such as budgets, How They Buys, contact updates, state term contracts, Market Alerts, and Developing Opportunities.
The Navigator Specialist will also act as back-up support to our Bid Poster team and will assist with posting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), bids, awards, and other similar type documents (commonly just referred to as “bids”) from jurisdictional websites to the Navigator website(s) using our bid editor application. This requires learning how to use our system and how to select various technical categories under which to post them.
The Navigator Specialist may be called upon to assist in other duties as well including posting contact information, various research or other needed items concerning the Navigators.
Essential Duties:
- Posting data onto the Web sites keeping them current and accurate, as well as RFP and Award data
- Develop an understanding of the government structure and business process
- Maintain contact databases
- Collect and upload documents such as IT Strategic Plans and Organizational Charts
- Perform scheduled research for Website maintenance
- Populate and maintain budgets
- Maintain How They Buy Pages
- Work on special projects as assigned
- Develop an understanding of the IT industry and its products and how those relate to and impact government
- Collect, log and post future Developing Opportunities from documents such as CIP Plans, Strategic Plans
- Helping to support both the bid and research teams
- Posting state term contracts to the Navigator websites
- Researching articles and writing a short summary for Market Alerts
- Contacting jurisdictions (state, city, school districts, etc.) by telephone as needed for current information to be posted on the Web sites and to gather additional information for other various research projects
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to navigate through Web sites accurately and rapidly.
- Must be in a work environment with reliable Internet access
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly detail oriented
- An in-depth knowledge of Navigator and its content (training provided)
- Highly organized and efficient
- Ability to type at a minimum rate of 55 wpm, with accuracy
