Job Description

Sola Wood Flowers is looking for an experienced digital marketer with extensive paid advertising experience to join our team.


You will own paid social, paid search, and creative for our brand, working alongside our marketing, product and creative teams.


Ideally, you have 4+ years of digital marketing experience and are very comfortable managing spend of 6 figures per month.

At Sola Wood Flowers, we are transforming what artificial flowers can be by providing better flowers for less with our affordable eco-friendly wooden flowers and currently serve over 6% of American weddings annually.


We’re working towards building a modernized $100mm+ vertically-integrated platform selling through direct-to-consumer, owned retail and traditional wholesale channels.


Sola Wood Flowers has grown to ~120 people in less than 4 years and is looking to continue our rapid-growth!

What do we need you to do?


  • Assist with other marketing related activities on an as-needed basis. This will depend on your core marketing skill set, but a good example would be helping with a site overhaul if you have CRO familiarity.
  • Own paid social and paid search for our brand. We are roughly 75/25 paid social VS paid search and spend 6 figures per month on digital advertising. The right person will be able to own both very comfortably! By "own" we mean down to the tactical level IN the channel - making adjustments on a day-to-day basis. If you have not lived inside of FB Ads Manager, this is not the role for you.
  • Train other members of the team to read, interpret and understand paid media data.
  • Help manage our creative team. We are in the process of hiring a Creative Director. Until that person is hired, you’ll be managing our creative team. This includes helping us build the team out more! We utilize 3P agencies as well to help with creative, which is a relationship you’ll be responsible for managing, including holding them accountable for the final product.
  • Help our executive team allocate resources and capital during our quarterly and annual offsites.


Requirements:


  • Excellent cultural fit as per our values above.
  • Are able to provide references as requested. We do not want to waste your time or ours with a potential mishire. Our interview process is detailed & thorough.
  • No issue working ~60+ hours routinely. You wouldn’t know what to do with your free time if you were working less. By work, we mean learning + actual execution. We are all nerds about what we do and prefer small, highly compensated teams.
  • Excellent with data. You are an Excel wizard and might have the words VLOOKUP tattooed on yourself.
  • This is a remote position which means you must be excellent at working in a remote environment. We do need you on-site once a quarter for our onsite. Our standard business hours are 7 AM through 6 PM MST. You must be in a compatible time zone.
  • No problem jumping into any part of the business. You are eager and ready to learn!
  • You are comfortable using tools like Google Analytics and Rockerbox (or other attribution platforms).


Examples of What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Depending on what your other marketing skill sets look like, you’ll jump into other parts of our business to help. A great example might be assisting with a site overhaul if you’re very familiar with CRO.
  • Scoping out new potential channels, like LiveIntent.
  • Execution all aspects of day-to-day media buying on Meta and Google Adwords.
  • Coming up with ideas for new creative, and seeing that they are executed to your standards by our creative team.
  • Flowing EOS, our management system, downstream with your direct reports.


How Our Hiring Works & How We Operate:


When hiring, we’ll work with you to define the KPIs you’ll be responsible for and set targets. This removes ambiguity around wondering if you’re doing a good job after you start.


Initial soft interview, then a long-form live technical interview with the appropriate department. Our average time-to-hire from our first interview is ~8 - 10 days. We pride ourselves on timely responses and updates for applicants.


We run on EOS/Traction. If you’ve used Scaling Up or something like OKRs, you’ll likely slip into Traction easily! If you haven’t used it before, we recommend quickly researching Traction.


Our compensation philosophy clearly defines how we conceptually think about compensation at our company, our bonus structure, and more. This will be shared with you after our technical interview.


This position is eligible for our 100% bonus program. This means you would be eligible for up to 100% of your salary in bonus tied to meeting specific performance goals, which are outlined in our compensation philosophy.


For this specific role, we will walk you through the long-term vision and opportunities that have us excited about this business - and how you fit in. We will show you our current cost structure and where we are headed!


How Much Does This Pay?


We are able to offer between $100,000 - $145,000 USD per year in fixed salary, alongside our 100% bonus program. It’s likely most of our team will hit between ~20% - 40% of their bonus target this year. Bonus is based on a mix of company performance and individual targets. We work with you to set targets at the start of each quarter.


We always send our compensation philosophy document to you that details how everything works prior to our 2nd interview. Initial fixed compensation will be determined based on your existing relevant experience. It’s a lot easier for us to start someone at a higher compensation level if they have experience in DTC/eCommerce because they can add value more quickly.
