Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts at QuartzBio, an innovative SaaS product company. As the Marketing Director at QuartzBio, your expertise in B2B marketing, exceptional organizational and project management skills, and a data-driven approach will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious growth targets. We are looking for a very curious, agile, and proactive person, who loves to roll up their sleeves and can work effectively in a fast-changing environment. You'll be a key driver in enhancing our market presence and fostering a high-performing team. The role demands a unique blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, leadership prowess, and an operational, results-driven approach.

QuartzBio is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions provider to the life sciences industry. We deliver innovative, data enabling technologies (i.e., software) that provide biotech/pharma (R&D) teams with enterprise-level access to sample/biomarker data management and business intelligence tools. Our end-to-end (from sample collection to biomarker data) suite of solutions are focused on providing sponsors with information (data with context) – we do this by connecting biospecimen, assay, and clinical data sources in a secure and scalable cloud-based infrastructure, enabling seamless, automated data management workflows, key insight development, improved collaboration, and the ability to make faster, more informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Execution

  • Work with leadership to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and tactics aligned with business goals.
  • Leads projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency and fostering team ownership.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and the delivery team to deeply understand customer segments, customer needs and QuartzBio's value propositions.
  • Lead tactical execution of established strategies to drive meaningful results within the business.

Management and Mentorship

  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and facilitate career growth for team members.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of marketing professionals, focusing on skill development and career growth.
  • Champion change management initiatives within the team and across the organization, fostering a culture of adaptation and innovation.

Lead Generation and Market Research

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns, projects, and events that build brand awareness, educate our audience, generate engagement/interest and create new, qualified business opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging lead generation technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Ability to translate insights into targeted marketing strategies based on understanding customer needs.

Team and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Customer Success and Product teams to implement changes that improve customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors to support marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with other marketing team members and the cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic, integrated plan is developed with specific, relevant metrics that can be tracked/shared.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database.
  • Evaluate new technologies and applications to optimize our marketing efforts and performance.
  • Manage marketing budgets and measure ROI and KPIs to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Analyze marketing and sales data to make recommendations for strategies and campaigns.
  • Establish closed-loop analytics to understand how marketing activities develop prospects.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in marketing roles, with 5+ years in a leadership or management position.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform decisions.
  • Proven track record of effectively leading and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools, analytics platforms, and content management systems.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication abilities for effectively conveying complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective marketing strategies.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • A proven track record of working independently, making informed decisions, and effectively organizing work to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred: Experience within SaaS and/or life sciences industry

Leadership expectations:

  • Cultivate an inclusive and positive team environment by understanding diverse perspectives.
  • Inspire peak performance and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Champion diversity while navigating cultural differences within the team.
  • Acknowledge and celebrate team contributions to nurture a positive culture.
  • Empower team members through strategic delegation and encouraging challenges.
  • Develop strong relationships across stakeholders, promoting collaboration.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with fellow leaders to achieve shared organizational objectives.
  • Provide consistent guidance, fostering professional growth and skill advancement.
  • Set clear performance expectations, offer constructive feedback, and ensure accountability.
  • Manage conflicts effectively, aiming for solutions that satisfy all parties.
