3 Step Sports is looking for a Payroll Manager to actively support the Accounting Department and the organization as we continue to grow.


This role is full-time in-person at the company’s headquarters in Andover, MA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements and resolve tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing.
  • Maintain employee records in the payroll and ERP systems.
  • Respond to year end external financial audit and any regulatory inquiries.
  • Prepare monthly staff time analysis reports.
  • Reconcile G/L accounts on a monthly basis related to assigned payroll and benefit accounts.
  • Maintain payroll deductions, deferrals, and withholdings for all employees.
  • Process and post semi-monthly payroll
  • Manage year-end employee W-2 and employer ACA reporting.
  • Analyze, audit, reconcile, and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing!
  • Perform benefits administration to include vendor change reporting, reviewing invoices for payment, and assisting employees with benefit enrollment, annual renewals, and termination Cobra forms.
  • May work with system programmers to achieve solutions or administer company payroll system with outside service provider.
  • Process needed G/L journal entries related to payroll and benefits.
  • Other assigned duties as requested.
  • Maintain payroll reporting records.
  • Approve and post weekly staff time sheets.
  • Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and all tax authority regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to quickly assess issues and relevant information to make effective decisions.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Willingness to work hard with a positive attitude.
  • 5+ years of experience managing payroll or accounting in a multi-state and multi-entity environment.
  • Acute attention to detail and a dedication to providing high quality work products.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems
  • Experience in handling sensitive/confidential information
  • Proficient in financial accounting, with strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices and procedures
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with accounting ERP system (Oracle NetSuite preferred)
