About the Role
If you have a knowledge and passion for plants, as well as a passion for growing people, then we would love for you to join our team as the National Sales Manager. In this critical role, you will serve as the first line of training for our outside sales team, analyzing the needs, and providing new and existing sales training to maintain and grow Monrovia’s position in the market. To do so, and help define Monrovia’s sales strategy, you will travel extensively throughout the United States meeting with the individual outside sales team members.
What You’ll Do
You will…
- Motivate, inspire, and coach current and new sales reps to achieve and exceed their sales goals while keeping the Monrovia brand at the forefront of sales and service.
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Coaches to ensure territories are fully staffed; sales goals are distributed optimally to achieve maximum results; and constant communication is maintained with the sales reps regarding results and expectations for the current season, current programs, and the future.
- Work closely with the sales reps to identify challenges they face on-the-job and recommend ways to improve productivity.
- Observe sales encounters and collect feedback, results, and performance data after sessions.
- Structure training plans and process improvement efforts to ensure Monrovia’s sales goals are achieved monthly, seasonally, and annually.
- Conduct skills gap analyses, prepare learning objectives, and evaluate results.
- Support Monrovia’s marketing strategy and gain acceptance and implementation throughout the sales team.
Who You Are
You:
- Are familiar with relational database fundamentals.
- Have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and can maintain full automobile insurance with collision and comprehensive coverage with necessary liability limits.
- Have excellent organizational, coaching, and interpersonal skills, and can interact professionally and patiently with others, successfully developing productive relationships, and building and developing teams and effective training programs while adhering to the highest levels of legal and ethical behavior.
- Can quickly learn Monrovia Nursery Quality/Lean Six Sigma and new business processes as they apply to solution design and effectively transfer that learning to others.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Zoom, and BI and have experience working in Oracle Cloud Fusion Applications.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in horticulture, business, organizational development, or a minimum of five years of experience in Sales Management.
- Are an excellent verbal and written communicator and a capable presenter.
- Are self-motivated, proactive, dynamic, with a can-do desire to make a difference.
- Can travel extensively, working extended hours as needed.
- Have advanced customer service and time management skills.

- Earn a base salary ranging between $140,000 to $180,000 per year plus will be eligible to participate in the variable compensation program.
