The Opportunity


Mattel, Inc., the largest toy company in the world, is seeking a Sr. National Account Sales Manager to achieve sales targets and business metrics, while also spearheading initiatives to build long term growth, by selling some of the most iconic brands in the world at Key Accounts within Growth Channels in the US.


The Sr. National Account Sales Manager will be directly responsible for developing and executing Strategic Account Plans for the Mattel, Mega, and Fisher Price businesses and will require a deep understanding of the retail landscape. Their responsibility will include managing of a direct report. The successful candidate will be hungry for growth, someone who challenges the status quo and works strategically and collaboratively with internal and external business partners to achieve both Mattel and customer goals.


This position will be field-based or located at one of our Sales offices around the country. Periodic travel to retail accounts and corporate headquarters required.


What Your Impact Will Be


  • Identify business opportunities and work with internal and external partners to create customized plans to drive results.
  • Gain consistent market share by leveraging data and shopper insights.
  • Align brands and customer vision by leading the cross-functional team to execute against the strategy and deliver on goals.
  • Lead the integration of Toy and Consumer Products within the customer.
  • Conduct weekly buyer meetings and periodic business reviews to strategically manage the business and execute against sales trends.
  • Attend toy shows & previews and be knowledgeable of new product line architecture.
  • Manage trade spend to plan promotional activations at account and drive sales.
  • Deliver on planned business metrics including sales growth, margin and inventory targets for both Mattel and the customer.
  • Lead multi-year strategic planning leveraging omni brand vision and priorities.
  • Excel at working collaboratively within customer team, other departments e.g. finance, supply chain, marketing, and SLT.
  • Create game-changing solutions within a constantly evolving retail environment.
  • Partner with respective internal teams to build monthly forecasts, support orders, and ensure customer’s requirements are met.
  • Optimize and manage planogram item recommendations to drive productivity and grow space. Leverage marketing and brand priorities to secure feature out of aisle placement.
  • Lead internal discussions with Marketing and Omnichannel Retail Marketing teams to ensure strong retail execution.
  • Develop and execute omni strategic business plans to bridge Mattel and customer goals.


What We’re Looking For


  • Effective selling & communication skills and confidence will be keys for success
  • Strong PC skills (Excel/Word/Power Point)
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

  • 10+ years of related sales experience with a mass account, consumer-packaged goods, toys, or entertainment

The annual base salary range for this position is between $122,400 and $178,000.
  • This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
