Mysql Dba Jobs

Responsibilities:

• Implement partitions to improve performance
• Help developers to convert the front-end and back-end code to work in v8
• Create and manage several MySQL instances (v5 to v8) in Google Cloud platform
• Upgrade / migrate when required
• Migrate v5 databases to v8
• Create tables, indexes, users and other database objects as part of the day to day activities
• Implement security best practices
• Safeguard against online threats and / or unauthorised access
• Write stored procedures to support business functions as well as procs required for DB maintenance
• Perform backup and recover the database when required
• As the customer base increase, implement clustered environment
• Work independently with minimum support from the Head of Technology

Requirements:

• Have knowledge of advanced concepts in MySQL
• Not only good in managing the database, but also should be able to write high-performance stored procedures to help the front developers
• Have a masters degree in Computer Science or IT
• Have recent experience in ETL
• Strong understanding of normalisation rules
• Have working experience with other databases like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MongoDB etc.
