Database Administrator - Voice

What you will be doing:

• Assist database performance tuning efforts
• Enhance operational standards and policies for database environments using industry experience, best practices, and business needs, including patch management
• Perform capacity planning duties for database environments
• Provide guidance on data modelling, RDBMS, and database infrastructure strategies for Development and Operations teams
• Identify and resolve problems with database systems
• Implement clustered or other high availability configurations, including failover procedures
• Manage backup/restore strategy
• Work with various vendor technical support as required
• Provide SQL and technical support (syntax, trace, tuning) for Development teams
• Drive proactive monitoring/alerting through creation and implementation of tooling
• Maintain and incrementally enhance database disaster recovery capabilities
• Ensure 24x7 operations of customer-critical MySQL database systems
• Work with Security team to ensure data security for all database environments

What you will bring to the role:

• Be able to demonstrate great analytical skills, able to independently troubleshoot application issues
• Self-motivated to learn additional skillsets outside of DBA duties, supporting various applications as a team player
• Strong understanding of database architecture, data modelling, schema design and development
• Communication skills along with ability to work independently and being proactive
• Problem solving
• 3+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA, 3+ years’ experience in database server and MySQL performance analysis and tuning
• Experiencing managing Database systems on Linux
• 3+ years of experience with replication and high availability
• Excellent database performance tuning skills

DESIRED:

• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts for databases (releases, deployments)
• NoSQL (Elasticsearch, Couchbase, Redis)
• Experience working with Manticore Search Engine
• Be ready to take and learn different tasks behind MySQL
• Willing to improve existing processes and systems
• Experience with Bash, Python
• Experience working with Manticore Search Engine
