Moog’s Corporate Group is looking for an Database Administrator.

As a Database Administrator, you will support our IT and business partner teams by providing reliable database availability and performance across on-premise and cloud hosts.

Reporting into the Solutions Enablement team within Corporate IT, the Database Administrator will be responsible for providing performance, compliance, access management, procedural and landscape documentation, and cost management associated with our servers with multiple back ends (Systems DBA). Our primary backends are SQL Server and Oracle.

The ideal candidate will provide operational backup support to Oracle and will own Azure SQL (PaaS) and SQL Server in Azure (IaaS).

This position is eligible for a hybrid working schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute database server support for backups, disaster recovery, and high availability for eligible applications
  • Server monitoring to ensure performance optimization
  • Create and maintain documentation for knowledge base articles to be shared across organization to promote self-service
  • Integrate alerting into our ITSM software to standardize incident response
  • Database migrations
  • Server installation and configuration
  • Serve as influential contributor to hardware and cloud decisions (pricing, performance, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with licensing and critical/security patches in timely fashion

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Server clusters is desired
  • Strong SQL skills required
  • Typically, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years database administration experience
  • Independent problem solving and communications skills required
  • Knowledge in multiple database back ends is desired
  • Proficient in shell scripting
  • Windows and Linux administration experience
  • Experience with Cloud PaaS and IaaS frameworks is desired

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
