Location: Portugal - Remote

Are you ready to make your mark?

Responsibilities:

• Drive incidents, problems and changes management processes
• Health monitoring and alerting
• Support CI/CD process for database changes delivery
• Investigate and implement new features within continuous service improvements process
• Performance tuning
• Maintain and incrementally enhance operational standards and policies for database environments according to business requirements (i.e., SOC2/SOX audits) using internal processes/practices and industry experience
• Backup & restore management
• Collaborate cross teams (Development/Operations)
• MySQL patching
• Support internal projects like upgrades and migrations (Hardware/Operating System/SAN/etc)
• MySQL Database and schema access provisioning
• Manage Database schema and capacity
• Perform database changes and migrations code review
• Ensure 24x7 operations of customer-critical MySQL database systems in our multiple SaaS environments, including but not limited to:
• Provide guidance for Development teams on data modelling and database infrastructure strategies
• Database cloning (Restore production copy to DEV environments), data masking

Qualification

• 5+ years of experience as an MySQL DBA on Linux platform
• Scripting skills, DevOps / Infrastructure automation skills (Chef, Ansible) are the plus
• Experience on design & architecting the MySQL environment using any framework like MariaDB, Galera Cluster or Percona XtraDB or InnoDB cluster
• Experience in Database performance tuning which include both SQL tuning and hardware configuration and capacity planning
• Experience on building the database monitoring using tools like, Nagios, Grafana, ELK, AppD etc.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, RDBMS structure and theory
• Upper intermediate English
• Communication skills along with ability to work independently and being proactive
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL backup/recovery and replication
