Summary:
The Global Material Manager is a key interface for enterprise-wide global customers between regional/site teams, global supply chain, go to market, and the customer for all aspects of materials. Acts as Materials Manager for all material related issues; responsible for coordinating closely with all regional/site team to implement cost reduction strategies, increase productivity, reduce days of inventory (DOI), and improve on time delivery (OTD) for assigned customer base.
Responsibilities:
- Work with supply base for assigned customer to ensure contractual terms meet Benchmark goals regarding incoterms, payment terms etc.
- Drive and assist in site Tactical behavior through global relationships while maintaining the strategic intent of the role by driving material issues at the appropriate operational levels and engage in resolution to maintain OTD and customer satisfaction.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Maintain an awareness of the global customer’s plan for the assemblies by integrating Materials and GTM Strategies into the total account strategies including product life, redesign, or replacement timing, etc. Ensure all appropriate Benchmark sites/materials teams are current on these plans.
- Assist in customer and supplier negotiation as required.
- Support and encourage an increase in supply chain programs across all regions to increase improved OTD, reduced lead times, and DOI reductions.
- Serve as an escalation point in the management of shortages serving as Supply Chain global point of contact with all internal Benchmark teams and the customer. Responsible for ensuring global Benchmark supply is efficiently utilized to meet Customer demand and proper Supplier and Customer escalations have been made to solve any shortage challenge.
- Collaborate with site materials, sourcing, finance, quoting, and customer facing teams on material pricing to ensure continuous improvement on customer satisfaction and productivity as well as maintaining Benchmark materials margin goals.
- Support any transition processes for new business or product transitions between sites to meeting customer and Benchmark goals.
- Indirectly oversee activities of key customer materials personnel at site level to ensure customer continuity across all Benchmark sites.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customer proposals to reduce DOI that benefit the customer as well as Benchmark initiatives. – Monitor regionally and globally for strategic customers.
- Knowledge of Electronics Market
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered
- Advanced decision making and problem-solving skills
- ERP and Kinaxis knowledge
- Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office
- 4 years of related Supply Chain experience is required
- Effective interpersonal skills with employees and customers
- EMS experience preferred
Education:
- A minimum of a(n) Bachelors Degree is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred
