LHH Recruitment Solutions (formerly Ajilon) is seeking a Materials & Inventory Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with manufacturing client located in the greater South Bend area. This manager will be responsible for optimizing the planning of raw materials, managing inventory and purchasing as well as overseeing the material handling and inventory adjustment processes. This growing automotive manufacturing company offers competitive benefits and the salary range for this position is 80-100k plus bonus which includes a comprehensive health benefits, 401k matching and PTO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
- Run demand analysis to effectively purchase & manage inventory for new product manufacturing.
- Establish standardized work procedures to sustain inventory analysis, Kanban’s, runs, shipping, and receiving.
- Calculate Min and Max Kanban levels and determine reorder points to ensure proper replenishment of materials.
- Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly personnel.
- Manage PFEP material strategy for raw, WIP, inventory and finished goods.
- Develop standard operating procedures for effective tracking, managing budgets, etc.
- Manage multi-million dollar budge for direct and indirect purchasing.
- Develop and motivate your team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
Qualifications
- Experience with EDI, ERP systems and/or PowerBi
- MUST HAVE 10+ years’ Experience in a Manufacturing High Volume. Low Mix manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others, effective coaching, leading a team-based approach to decision-making.
- Experience with fast-paced production lines.
- 5+ years' Experience in a management role
- Must have experience with both domestic & international materials/supply chain management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years’ Experience with Lean process for supply chain purchasing & material management for automotive industry
