Job Overview
A champion of the brand’s visual identity & voice. A conceptual leader and brand steward, the creative manager drives the creative strategy & leads the team to take risks, elevate creative and develop strategic, persuasive communication design that builds on the brand narratives. The creative manager will provide support for their respective Creative Director. They will strengthen our brand by taking ownership of planning digital campaigns & ensuring the storytelling aspect is clear throughout all channels. The creative manager will have a strong editorial voice & vision, creative innovation & will be a natural leader. They will engage customers equally in digital, traditional and emerging media by bringing our products and services to life in an authentic and culturally relevant style.
Reporting to the Creative Director, Value Identity and Personalization, you’ll work primarily with partners in the Creative, Digital Experience, Strategy, Marketing Activation, Comms Planning, Project Management, & Photo Studio teams.
Essential Functions
- Creates presentations that effectively articulate and inspire support for ideas.
- Increase customer engagement & conversion by creating immersive, connected personalized experiences that are fueled by customer insight & prospect triggers.
- Brings energy and enthusiasm to the team through participation in celebrations, peer mentoring, volunteering and fundraising events.
- Reviews data & insights from past test learnings to inform future executions.
- Inspires others through an innovative approach to design, ideation & ways of working.
- Collaborates with copywriters and other creatives to develop campaign and project concepts that meet creative brief objectives.
- Ensures all creative work meets brand identity guidelines, reflects our customer’s diversity as well as design and fashion trends, and is grounded in an ongoing awareness of our competition.
- Meets deadlines and proactively communicates status of projects to partners and leaders.
- Applies knowledge of creative industry trends, always bringing new creative ideas to the table.
- Leads monthly wireframing and editorial planning.
- Combines a deep understanding of design systems, grids, color, typography and photography to deliver clear and powerful messages.
- Helps ideate new personalization tests for future sprints.
- Plans, prioritizes and produces a high volume of work – takes ownership from start to finish.
- Researches with enthusiasm to bring innovation into all solutions, from new fashion and promotional ideas to new digital content and experiences.
- Evaluates creative briefs to ensure clarity and alignment on direction before work begins.
- Manages a team of designers, overseeing all design work related to the personalization project.
- Uses consumer insights & knowledge to contribute high-impact testing hypotheses.
Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Photo art direction experience required.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – XD, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
- Excellent communication skills.
- 4-6 years of experience in advertising design or related design discipline.
- Retail experience preferred, but not required.
- Proactive, detail oriented and always follows through.
- Works independently, quickly and iteratively.
- Portfolio demonstrating design and advertising communications proficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs – Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong organizational, planning, prioritizing and problem-solving skills.
