Job Overview:

As Product Design Engineer specializing in product development for the B2C retail market, you will play a critical role in conceptualizing, designing, and developing products and product ranges that resonate with our target audience. Your creativity, technical expertise, and market insight will be crucial in creating products that stand out on the shelves and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

It would cover Product Design, Engineering & Product management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and marketing, to understand project requirements, target audience, and business objectives.

- Lead the conceptualization and design of innovative products and product ranges that meet consumer needs, align with brand identity, and adhere to manufacturing and cost constraints.

- Develop detailed sketches, 3D models, prototypes, and mock-ups to communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders.

- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, user preferences, and competitive products within the B2C retail space.

- Generate and refine design concepts based on user feedback, technical feasibility, and market trends.

- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and meet quality standards.

- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to select appropriate materials, manufacturing techniques, and processes.

- Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and models.

- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, emerging technologies, and design methodologies to drive innovation within the team.

- Present design proposals and updates to internal teams and external partners in a clear and engaging manner.

- Ensure project timelines are met while maintaining design integrity and quality.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.

- 5+years of experience in industrial design, with a proven track record of developing successful products for the B2C retail market.

- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, Rhino, etc.).

- Strong sketching, rendering, and visualization skills to effectively communicate design concepts.

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing projects from concept to production.

- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and their impact on design decisions.

- Creative thinking and a strong ability to translate user insights and market trends into compelling design solutions.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, to articulate design ideas and concepts.

- Ability to adapt to evolving project priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

- Portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and demonstrating a user-centered design approach.
