Users are protected against production downtime, data loss and experience significantly increased cyber security. AUVESY-MDT is operating world-wide with sales offices in Germany, US and China and a partner network of more than 100 partners around the world.
The Role:
As AUVESY-MDT continues its impressive growth trajectory into the US we are looking to build out a Business Development and Corporate Development function on the ground to support with market engagement and M&A driving pipeline and execution into our North American funnel.
This position will combine not only Business Development activities of identifying new markets and product initiatives but also support with execution and delivery of M&A pipeline and activity.
Responsibilities:
At this time, this role will be an individual contributor and will be responsible for:
- Leading client meetings and pitches
- Working on M&A strategies with the Board, including:
- Ongoing levels of Board oversight and executive autonomy
- Define the international expansion strategy
- Defining “Purpose” (synergy, new markets in terms of products and/or geography, defensive, offensive)
- Developing a quantified and risk assessed value creation plan with key stakeholders for sign-off
- Delivering against and strategically adding to the new product adjacencies roadmap
- Post-acquisition preferences for varying levels of integration
- Work closely with the CEO and MD US in identifying key strategic opportunities in adjacent markets
- Establish relationships internally and externally to help identify target acquisitions or divestments and to mobilize capability quickly when needed
- Conducting market segmentation, competitive research (ensuring a diligent understanding of market trends), understanding competitive threats and customer buying needs and journeys
- Warranting that post-acquisition experience is captured and reported to enhance company learning. For example performance against VCP assumptions; any gaps in due diligence; reflections on the processes of integration; performance of key due diligence partners, etc.
- Expected diligence standards (in-house and outsourced)
- Providing strategic advice and proposals in line with agreed strategic ambitions and parameters
- High-level process of consideration
- Broad pricing and funding expectations/structures
- Building the M&A capability, a blend of in-house and outsourced services, to agreed upon budget
Qualifications and Experience:
- Conducting market research and evaluating adjacent product opportunities.
- Ability to integrate M&A function as a value-generating lever, hereby engaging respective business heads within the organization in a collaborative manner
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrable process, governance and operational expertise to the successful integration of acquired business
- International experience of M&A or expansion of a business unit into a new country (preferably buy and build)
- Corporate M&A experience, ideally working with PE-backed companies, exhibiting a track record of executing on deals at volume
- Value/culture-based working style
- Aptitude to navigate a demanding Board/C-suite

- Good listener with strong communication skills, applied internally and externally to information gathering, influencing and negotiating
- Go getter mentality, open to rolling up their sleeves to build out and implement new process

- Insightful leader with professional stature and sound judgement; must have the credibility, intellectual capacity and operational grip to gain immediate respect with the leadership team and shareholders
- High levels of emotional intelligence and sensitivity to international cultures
- Ability to act as a credible representative of AUVESY-MDT at all levels of external and internal interaction. Is also able to articulate complex investment processes to a diverse client audience
