Position Overview

If yes, this may be the role for you. We’re seeking a skilled Learning Content Designer with experience in the youth space to support our mission of making safe and age-appropriate media the rule rather than the exception in the industry. Supporting our partnerships with the leading video streaming platforms, this role will primarily focus on developing and delivering resources to educate and empower teenagers to take ownership of their digital lives as well as providing parents and caregivers with tools to support their teens' digital well-being. Additional responsibilities involve creating materials to guide content creators in developing impactful, healthy online video content.
Responsibilities:
- Create educational materials, including presentations, videos, guides, tip sheets, and interactive modules, to address various aspects of digital well-being for teens.
- Research and curate relevant information on media literacy, digital content development, online communication, mental health, and other topics related to teens' digital lives.
- Liaise with external organizations, schools, and community partners to identify collaborative opportunities and leverage their expertise in developing and disseminating resources and hosting events.
- Develop and support delivery of workshops, webinars, and other online and/or in-person events for teens and families related to healthy digital habits.
- Ensure all materials align with current industry research, best practices and cultural sensitivities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate and value creativity, curiosity, tenacity, and an ability to connect with others, both internal and external, who come from a wide range of backgrounds and points of view
- In depth knowledge of issues related to teen digital well-being, including cyberbullying, media literacy, online privacy, mental health, and digital citizenship.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from various sources and distill it into digestible takeaways and actionable recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Media Studies, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Desire to work for a mission-driven organization and be true to its values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner for specific audiences (teens, parents, content creators).
- Demonstrated experience in developing educational materials or resources for teens and/or parents/caregivers based on instructional design principles and learning theories.
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity in content creation.
- Strong knowledge of digital media, online safety, social media platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Passion for youth empowerment, digital literacy, and promoting healthy digital habits.
- A self-starter with an ability to collaborate remotely
