Job Description
Let’s face it, a company whose mission is human transformation better have some fresh thinking about the employer/employee relationship.

We do. We can’t cram it all in here, but you’ll start noticing it from the first interview.

Even our candidate experience is different. And when you get an offer from us (and accept it), you get way more than a paycheck. You get a personal BetterUp Coach, a development plan, a trained and coached manager, the most amazing team you’ve ever met (yes, each with their own personal BetterUp Coach), and most importantly, work that matters.

This makes for a remarkably focused and fulfilling work experience. Frankly, it’s not for everyone. But for people with fire in their belly, it’s a game-changing, career-defining, soul-lifting move.

Join us and we promise you the most intense and fulfilling years of your career, doing life-changing work in a fun, inventive, soulful culture.

If that sounds exciting—and the job description below feels like a fit—we really should start talking.

As an Associate Learning Experience Designer, you will be part of a creative and multidisciplinary team developing science-backed group coaching experiences for our end users (i.e. members) that are delightful, engaging, and measurably effective. You will help advance our mission of hyper personalization through the creation of content and curricula for our suite of transformational group experiences. You represent the voice of BetterUp, ensuring we develop human-centered learning experiences that reflect our brand. This is a creative and detail-oriented role that requires an empathic, team player mentality, and the ability to plan and execute in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You thrive in managing a variety of responsibilities, and you respond with openness, curiosity and resourcefulness to shifts in prioritization and the broader business environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Initiate and own ad hoc projects from end-to-end, collaborating seamlessly with stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with key partners to evaluate impact and continuously improve group experiences
  • Own end-to-end content creation for current and new product offerings in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, using instructional design, UX, learning and behavioral science principles
  • Tailor existing content in line with BetterUp’s evidence-based standards to meet customer needs
  • Design innovative group experiences that enable learning, practice, and sustainable behavior change using a behavior-change lens
  • Consult with subject matter experts to ensure that content creation and quality are aligned with BetterUp’s standards for scientific rigor
  • Prototype and test learner-centric group learning experiences

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Experience conceptualizing, developing, and producing large and small-scale group learning experiences for a professional adult audience
  • A keen eye to detail and strength in design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive amidst ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • MA/MS preferred in psychology, learning and development, or coaching experience with 3+ years of learning experience design
  • Multi-stakeholder project management experience
  • Highly organized and strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize and make decisions with bias towards action
  • Creativity and desire to experiment with novel technologies and solutions
  • Experience in developing synchronous and asynchronous innovative curricula and experiences to support learning and development (workshops, group experiences, self-guided courses, etc.)
  • Passion for developing content related to coaching, mentorship, behavior change, psychology, and other fields that relate to human well-being, development and flourishing
  • Strong service orientation and collaboration skills
