Blacksmith is seeking an SME for Jira and related tools to provide guidance and support for the tool across the organization. This individual would serve as a key technical resource for the support of our Atlassian applications and work within the team to mature the tools and practices used by all of Blacksmith.

Position Objective:

Blacksmith is seeking an SME for Jira and related tools to provide guidance and support for the tool across the organization. This individual would serve as a key technical resource for the support of our Atlassian applications and work within the team to mature the tools and practices used by all of Blacksmith.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as subject matter expert for Atlassian products including research on upcoming features/releases which can be used for continuous improvements and recommendations on new plugins/applications to enhance functionality
• Partner with internal teams that use our Jira instance to manage their work, build solutions that meet their unique needs, and determine ways to optimize and improve Jira/Confluence setup and workflows
• Create and maintain documentation on Atlassian product configurations, automations, and processes to facilitate change management and training for internal teams
• Conduct end-user training on Jira and Confluence regarding how to use the tools, new functionality, etc.
• Create, manage, and support all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian product suite
• Understand system architecture of upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions
• Manage all critical aspects of Atlassian tooling including but not limited to workflows, screen schemes, automations, JQL, reporting, permissions, notifications, custom fields, marketplace add-ons, and integrations
• Support and resolve issues as they arise including investigation and advanced troubleshooting for reported issues in Atlassian products. Manage escalations with Atlassian support or third-party support, as required

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with stakeholders
• Process governance experience or strong automation workflow knowledge
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in both verbal and written communication in English and attention to detail
• 3 or more years of relevant job experience
• Hands-on experience supporting Atlassian tools
• Experience with REST API and JSON
• Experience with Agile methodology lifecycle
• Proven track record with Atlassian plugin installations and upgrades
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
• Proficient in Confluence space administration

Nice to have:

• One or more Atlassian certifications is a plus
• Experience using and managing common add-ons such as Automation for Jira, Advanced Roadmaps, ScriptRunner, and the Bob Swift suite.
• Experience with Tempo, easyBI/powerBi, Bigpicture, etc.
• Expertise in Jira workflow administration and JQL skills
• Working knowledge and coding/scripting experience using Python or Groovy
• Resource reporting and forecasting through 3rd party Jira apps or tools
• Jira Advanced Roadmap experience is a plus
