It System Administrator Jobs

An excellent System Administrator is a resourceful problem solver and should be able to diagnose and resolve issues quickly, while also knowing when to ask for assistance. The System Administrator should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to users and teams to ensure proper system utilization.
• Manage network equipment and technology tools. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
• Regularly monitor and audit systems to guarantee their optimal performance.
• Develop comprehensive project plans and monitor progress constantly to manage risks and keep projects on track.
• Develop expertise to train team on new technologies.
• Strong competence in managing and tracking billable hours for multiple clients concurrently.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, firewalls, and policies.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Manage client expectations by setting realistic timelines and deliverables, updating them regularly on project progress, and escalating concerns promptly and professionally.
• Participate in after-hours on-call schedule from 5 PM – 8 AM and weekends as needed.
• Travel as needed to client locations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all projects, system issues, and their resolutions.
• Install, configure, and update tested software and hardware.
• Communicate technical information to non-technical clients clearly and effectively.
• Act as technical point of contact for our clients, addressing any concerns, queries, or issues that arise.
• Build positive relationships with clients, exceeding client expectations regarding timeliness and communications.
• Troubleshoot issues and outages.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Excellent communication skills, client-oriented and even-tempered.
• Experience with Microsoft 365.
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), firewalls, Windows servers, and patch management.
• Experience working in a consulting environment.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proven experience as a System Administrator, or similar role.
• Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
• Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
