Job Description

Go METRO
Metro is seeking an IT Application Administrator to coordinate with stakeholders within the business and support functions at Metro in the planning, design, development, and implementation of Transit Technology at Metro. This would include the acquisition of new solutions (software or hardware), as well as upgrades to existing applications. Drive and support the implementation of new functionality of software upgrades. Support and perform changes and upgrades to Transit IT environments including after-hours support and implementation of changes and releases of new software and hardware. Document and facilitate the work of IT as it relates to vendors in the support and implementation of technology at Metro.
JOB DUTIES
  • Application Management: Install, configure, and maintain enterprise applications, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. Applications include Maximo, M365, OpenGov, Genetec, and other Transit and Business-related apps.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending, and implementing improvements to enhance application functionality and user experience.
  • Customer focused support: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing their application-related issues and inquiries promptly and effectively. Establish close partnerships with Business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in compliance with Metro's safety and security policies.
  • Model, facilitate and encourage exemplary internal and external customer service, open communication, collaboration, participation, and professional development among staff.
  • Application Integration: Collaborate with developers and other IT teams to integrate applications with existing systems and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Application Upgrades and Patches: Manage the application upgrade process, including testing, deployment, and monitoring for compatibility and performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including installation procedures, configuration settings, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
  • Change Management: Coordinate application-related changes, ensuring proper testing, communication, and user training to minimize disruption.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with software vendors to manage report issues, request support, and coordinate updates and patches as needed.
  • Project Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional projects, providing expertise on application requirements, implementation, and support.
  • Ability to work in compliance with Metro's safety and security policies.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and access controls to protect applications and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems (four-year college or university) or related field, OR six (6) years of experience in supporting packaged applications. Certification(s) are a plus.
Experience
  • Three years related experience with a related bachelor's degree, six (6) years' experience in absence of a bachelor's degree. Transit experience strongly preferred.
