IT Systems Administrator / Consultant
About Aktion
Aktion Associates, Inc. is a national ERP software Reseller in the top 20 of the VAR 100 reseller market. We have a high growth technical environment with a workforce of over 200 professionals. We have a (3) year growth initiative to build our total workforce to 300. The workforce is highly skilled and consists of application consultants, software engineers, and networking engineers located throughout the U.S.
Core Responsibilities
  • Partner with other engineers when necessary for larger or more complex needs.
  • Deliver consulting services to support customer technology goals.
  • Partner with customers to architect and manage their ideal IT environment.
  • Conduct technology service reviews with clients on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Balance requests and projects from multiple customers while meeting overall satisfaction expectations.
  • Some flexibility for working after business hours and weekends is a requirement.
Required Skills/Education
  • Management & Discovery: ARP, SNMP, CDP/LLDP, Syslog
  • Operating Systems: Microsoft Server and Client OS, VMWare ESXi 6/7, RPM-based Linux OS, HPUX and AIX desired
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer support in the field of computer systems, servers and networking.
  • VPN: IKEv2, Client SSL, (SD-WAN a plus)
  • Candidates should have strong skills in the following:
    • Networking & Topology: 802.3 standards, interface bonding, STP, VLAN, L3 Management, DHCP, DNS, NTP, Routing (Static, OSPF, RIP), NAT and Access Control Lists
    • Management & Discovery: ARP, SNMP, CDP/LLDP, Syslog
    • VPN: IKEv2, Client SSL, (SD-WAN a plus)
    • Wireless: 802.11 standards, AP/Bridge, vSSID management, 2.5/5GHz channel management
    • SMTP: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Smart Relays, MUA vs MTA
    • Operating Systems: Microsoft Server and Client OS, VMWare ESXi 6/7, RPM-based Linux OS, HPUX and AIX desired
    • Other skills such as Microsoft SQL, Citrix, Database Administration, SAN Storage, Mobile deployments, Disaster Recovery and Cloud solutions a plus
    • Current certifications in any of these technologies will be highly considered.
