Job Summary


The Licensing System Application Support position will ensure the Licensing System at the Gambling Control Board is maintained, functioning and users receive support when they encounter issues. This position supports the Charitable Gambling Licensing System. This position will support system users, the system hosting environment, and the system data.

This licensing system receives original and renewal applications for charitable gambling licenses. This system will also receive data submitted monthly by various actors in the charitable gambling workflow. The data submitted by various actors is used by the GCB to provide oversight to the charitable gambling industry in MN.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create, manage, and approve account requests and manage permissions assigned to users
  • Database/Reporting support of SQL Server in Azure
  • Manage the application hosting environment in Azure
  • Track support requests and issues for analysis that may lead to updates/changes of the licensing system
  • Manage training material and its availability to end users (manage a web page with manuals and documentation)
  • Investigate and troubleshoot reported issues and seek help from the vendor if needed
  • Testing of the Charitable Gambling License System that involves updates, patches and fixes
  • This telework position requires an employee to periodically work onsite at the Roseville, MN location several days per week.
  • Candidates residing outside of Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) require additional review prior to telework approval upon becoming a finalist.
  • Candidates located in Minnesota, or a bordering state, do not require additional review.
  • Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a remote telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of professional IT experience that includes:

  • Knowledge of and experience with IIS and .NET applications
  • Experience with Windows-based server and desktop operating systems
  • Experience managing application installation and configuration on windows servers.
  • Azure storage services
  • Familiarity with N-tier application architecture
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Azure hosting for N-tier application using SQL-Server and Web App services
  • A Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, OR a related Bachelor’s degree substitutes for two years, OR a related Associate’s substitutes for one year.
