Purpose/Objective:

The IT Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting the Solutions Engineering team in planning, designing and hands-on implementation of solutions across multiple technology domains. Primarily, the IT Solutions Engineer will collaborate with both internal IT teams, and business stakeholders to evaluate, test, deploy, and document architectural aspects of various technologies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
• Consult with the Senior Solutions Engineer and other Information Technology staff, vendors, and the business to evaluate requirements, recommend designs, help plan projects, and execute tasks for implementation of hardware and software configurations. Ensure that all Solutions, and related applications, are running in a stable, efficient, and secure manner. Research and development of technology and innovative solutions to support and enhance the environment. Progress the bank's strategic initiative towards virtual/cloud-oriented infrastructure, through continued implementation of such technologies. 33%
• Produce and maintain architectural diagrams, support, and configuration material. Provide top-tier Infrastructure escalation support for deployed solutions. 33%
• In support of the Senior Solutions Engineer, engage technology vendors to find, evaluate and demonstrate technology platforms that augment and facilitate the Berkshire Bank strategic plan, including direct integration with existing platforms. Work with business stakeholders to find technology opportunities to improve business workflow. Document and design technology and workflow concepts to better communicate business demands and requirements. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth support transitions, inclusive of training sessions, documentation, and support-hand-off. 33%

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Bachelor's Degree in Business with course work in the computer field, or equivalent work experience
• MCITP/CCNA/VCP or other IT certifications desirable but not required

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience with multiple platforms including VMWare, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Networking
• Experience deploying virtual applications through VMWare technology, as well as Microsoft Terminal Services
• Experience administering VMWare Horizon VDI environments

Skills & Knowledge:

• Ability to communicate technical materials to non-technical audiences
• Excellent documentation skills
• Working knowledge of VMWare Horizon
• Analytical/problem solving skills
• Self-starter; able to work independently or in as part of a team
