Ip Network Engineer Jobs

We are seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As an IP Engineer your focus will be on design, implementation and maintenance of an organization’s IP Ethernet network, network design, architecture, protocols, and topology.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Everyday tasks would be extensive work in Service Provider level networking equipment (Ex. Cisco 7600 series, Juniper MX 960, etc)
• Implements communications technologies (data or voice).
• Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information; managing projects.
• Ability to perform duties in a very fast paced environment and learn new technology quickly
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Programs routers and switches.
• Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
• Tests and tunes security devices and systems.
• Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters.
• Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure experience required.
• 2+ years of Service Provider 'core' environment experience (CISCO and Juniper Layer 3 devices).
• Experience with Alcatel 7210 and 7750 and various cell tower backhaul equipment.
• Knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multi-mode, Single-mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred
• Intermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools (Granite) to support the current operations.
• Proficiency in CISCO ME Switches and Juniper QFX & EFX.
• Intermediate Data Networking Knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Networking).
• Local Prem Equip/CPE - RAD, ADVA, CISCO 920.
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
