As Network Engineer you will plan, organize and document complex system design activities and configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures. Duties also include communicating technical/complex information both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for the leading the delivery of technical projects, reducing overheads while migrating to new systems
· Develops new system and application implementation plans and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability
· Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
· Responsible for assisting in the oversight of the network infrastructure
· Perform troubleshooting as required, problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations
· Provide support to the help desk for escalated issues
· Provides leadership and guidance to other technicians and system administrators
· Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively
· Maintain network hardware such as switches, routers , firewalls and wireless gears etc
· Work with security team to assess & remediate network vulnerabilities and security, generating reports and defining network health
· Maintain and further develop disaster recovery plan and procedures
· Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical network resources
· Configure, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services
· Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, relevant experience may substitute for the degree
· 5+ years of overall network engineering experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Extensive networking experience with Cisco IOS, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, Firewall, Wireless etc
· Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS)
· Experience performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
· Experience monitoring network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability using SNMP/Netflow/Syslog SSH/etc
· Cisco certifications, CCNA or CCNP
· Experience working with multiple vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet etc.
· Experience on Azure networking is an advantage
· Ability to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and be service-oriented
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Team-oriented and adaptable
